What is UL certification?
Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is a North American multinational dedicated to safety and product certification. It is recognised for its participation in the adoption of electricity and the standardisation of safety rules for electrical devices and components.
UL’s evaluation process includes the inspection of the production process, the analysis of the available documentation and its respective certifications, the study of the test methods and the inspection of the storage process of the produced or imported material. This evaluation takes as a reference the requirements set out in the different sector regulations.

UL listed vs UL recognised component
The many UL standards on the market can be divided into two types.
The UL Listed Mark includes products that have passed all the respective safety and performance tests that comply with UL standards. As a general rule, these are finished products that are ready for installation.
The UL recognised component, on the other hand, groups together those elements that will form part of a final product, and which generally have less stringent requirements than the previous case.
UL 758 certification
UL 758 certification establishes the specifications for single and multi-pole insulated conductors used in manufacturing and production equipment. The cables described in this standard must have a minimum normal operating temperature of 60°C. They must also have conductors that are to be used in the production and manufacturing equipment. They must also have conductors ranging from 0.5mm2 to 400mm2 and have a minimum voltage rating of 30 V AC and from 3 kV DC.
UL 758 certification also covers characteristics relating to the presence of water, UV and chemical resistance.
TOPFLEX MS TRI-RATED cables
TOPFLEX MS TRI-RATED cable is specially designed for internal wiring of electrical cabinets, switch boxes and small electrical appliances. It can be used in tubes or in flexible conduits for motors, transformers and, in general, for any other industrial machinery.

We know that flexibility is a fundamental quality of cables used in electrical panels, so we have provided TOPFLEX MS TRI-RATED with a bending radius 5 times the outer diameter (class 5 according to UNE-EN 60228/ IEC 60228, and BS 6360). For easy identification of the cable, a wide range of colours is available, as well as a metre-by-metre marking of the outer jacket.
TOPFLEX MS TRI-RATED switchboard cable is UL Listed 758 certified, flame retardant and has a maximum operating temperature of 90ºC.
