AT TOP CABLE WE MANUFACTURE CABLES APPROVED BY NOTIFIED BODIES

Quality is an inseparable characteristic of our cables. At Top Cable, we design our cables for maximum suitability for each application, and we test them in our own laboratories so that we can be sure that the notified bodies will recognise their qualities.

These notified bodies are supported by experts from all over Europe to improve standards and quality, working with all member countries. The creation of these common parameters for all countries facilitates trade between them, unifying criteria and preserving safety and reliability among professionals.

The tasks of notified bodies include:

MAIN EUROPEAN NOTIFIED BODIES

CENELEC

CENELEC is one of the leading notified bodies. It develops European standards related to, among others, insulated conductors, low or medium voltage electrical cables, with the exception of telecommunication cables.

Some of its main certifications are:

TÜV

Technischer Überwachungs-Verein (TÜV) is one of the most established German notified bodies in existence. The certifications it issues in the electronic cable sector focus on cables for photovoltaic systems and are distinguished by their high standards in their assessment.

Our TOPSOLAR® H1Z2Z2-K cable is certified as an example of safety in a solar installation. With a proven track record since 1872, they stand for safety and quality for people, the environment and technology.

AENOR

AENOR is among the notified bodies with its own authentications in the cable sector. In the field of renewable energies, the capacity of installations to remain connected to the electricity system without disconnection is one of the aspects it analyses.

Some of its main cable certifications are:

CE Marking: ensures the free movement of construction products in the European Market.

HAR: is the benchmark for insulated cables in the domestic and European markets.

CEIS

The CEIS (Centre for Testing, Innovation and Services) evaluates and develops testing and technical assistance services related to quality, safety and the environment.

Related to electrical cables, it performs four types of tests:

BUREAU VERITAS

Bureau Veritas is a body that certifies that cables comply with standards and regulations in terms of quality, health and safety, environmental protection and social responsibility.

Among its certifications we can highlight those related to energy efficiency and environment and sustainability.

BASEC

The BASEC, British Approvals Service for Cables, is an independent notified body, highly reputable in the electrical cable industry. It offers product-related certifications for a variety of electrical cables and cable accessories, including building wire, armoured cables, control and instrumentation cables, industrial cables and high fire resistance cables. During the certification process, cables are subjected to specific tests and the cable manufacturing process is also thoroughly audited by the body.

DNV GL

This body was born from the merger between the Norwegian company Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and the German company Germanischer Lloyd (GL) in 2013. DNV GL has become a reference among international notified bodies in the maritime, oil, gas and energy sectors.

VDE

VDE is a German body with a strong technological focus. It specialises in testing and certifying electrical and electronic products to ensure that they meet strict safety, quality and performance standards. VDE certification is widely recognised worldwide. It covers everything from cables for household appliances to solar panels to electric vehicle charging stations (EVC), among others.
